Issue with TI Fusion Digital Power Designer

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS40400

I am using TI Fusion Digital Power Designer (Version 1.8.184) to interface TPS40400. when i run the the Fusion software, After USB adapter is scanned it shows the message as "No compatible PMBUS device found". There is a retry command in the same message. When i click retry command number of times (5 to 10 times) it detects the device and opens the main page of the fusion software. when ever i open the software i have to retry number of time to find the device. Please find the snap of error page.

What is the reason behind this. Is the Bug related with software or USB adapter or i have to check my circuit.

  • Hi Kinjan,

Thank you for your interest in TI parts.

Are you testing with the 40400 EVM or your own board? If it is your own design, can I ask you to post your schematic?

What device are you using between your PC and the 40400? Is it the TI USB-to-GPIO dongle or another device? If it is another device, please specify which.

When you start the Fusion software, does the 40400 have a bias supply applied? It will need to have at least 3V of bias in order to respond to the GUI.

    Please let me know.

    MC.
