Looking for buck-boost for :

Vin(mini)=1.8V/2V

Vin(max)=10V/12V

Vout=5.6V/1.5A-2A

 

  • The new TPS63060 is very close and is simple.

    The TPS43000 also almost meets your requirements.

    A solution that meets your requirements as stated would likely need a dedicated boost converter running off the input to act as a bias supply to another boost converter, TPS61175 for example, configured as a SEPIC.  So, A TPS6104x could boost your input to 12V or so and power the TPS61175.  The inductor of the TPS61175 configured as a SEPIC would then be connected to the input source.

    If the TPS61175 does not give enough output current, the TPS40210 would be a controller that would.  It can also be configured as a SEPIC.

  • Normally I would recommend the parametric power search, but there seems to be an issue with it (at least on my machine).

    The closest match is the TPS63060. The IC has an input range from 2.5V to 12V and can supply up to 2A.
    The issue is, at lower input voltages the output current will be quite hindered as visible in figure 1 and 2 of the datasheet and may/or may not meet your requirements.

    Can you review the datasheet and re-post with more information on your output current spec? E.g. is the 1.5 to 2A constant or only for a specified time? If for a specified time, for how long will the load need this current?

  • Needed constant 1.5A-2A to drive point of loads of 5V,-5V,1.8V and 3.3V,for 300-500MA ea.

  • With such a complicated multi-rail power supply, it is best to work with your local TI or distributor FAE who can draw up a power block diagram that best works for your system.
