Hi everbody,

I want to use TPS40210 for my university project. I control four solenoid valves by PWM signal from uC. Problem is in that solenoids valve need 24V supply power @4A together but i have only 12V at the disposal. So my question is, Is TPS40210 good choice for this application? what configuration is most suitable? Entire load in one branch is cca 15mH with 50ohm in series,type of flyback diode is ss12 and PWM signal have 30kHz switching frequency. In advance thank you for all kind of reply.

Hi Martin,

Thanks for being interested in TPS40210! You can find a similar reference design on the following webpage: http://www.ti.com/tool/pmp4741, which is a boost converter from 14V input to 24V/4A output using TPS40210. I am not familiar with the power requirement for your application. It seems to me the load will on/off at a relatively high frequency. You may need to pay attention to the output impedance of the boost converter. Higher control bandwidth and more output capacitance are preferred to lower down the output impedance of the boost converter.

Thank you for reaction. I have one more question. I take a note of being pspice average and transient models at disposal. I want to ask. Can i use some of them to stability analysis?
