uc3843---Pin3 maximun rating

Dear,

our customer find there is a -1.2v nagtive voltage at Pin3 of uc3842 when perform the short circuit testing, as below picture however,the  Uc3843 datasheet show the maximum Pin3 rating is -0.3v to 6.3v, what 's the risk of the -.12v negtive  for the uc3843? i notice the pin3 is connecting to the minus input  of  amplifier, what's the consideration of 0.3v maximum rating  here?

    We  cannot recommend that any customer should operate our parts outside their maximum ratings. In this instance less than -0.3V on pin3.

     

    Having said that please ensure that the customer is doing a tip and barrel measurement between pin 3 and pin 5 at the IC pins to see if the pulse in real. There was no picture attached to the post.
