I have questions about the Board Offset Calibration for bq20zXX

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: BQEVSW

I am calibrating the Board Offset field dataflash field in accordance with procedure in SLUA379B.  The calculated value for the Board Offset (Subclass 104, offset 16) requires the value of the sense resistor. However, the bqEVSW software appears to perform the same function on the Calibration screen without inputting the sense resistor value. How does this work and how can I duplicate the function?

The bqEVSW reports the value of Board Offset in uV. The value is stored in the data flash in a sixteen bit number. How to can I convert between the data flash value and the uV value? I don't see where the units are mentioned in the documentation.

Thanks!
Phil

Does anyone have any insight into this? I am working with a bq20z60R1 V1.05.

Also, the process indicates in SLUA379B does not work. The process comes up with a value that translates to about -73uV. However, the bqEVSW Software Board Offset calibration function comes up with -38uV. The -38uV is correct.

  • Hi, Phil

I am studying the calibration procedure in bq20zXX. Can you show me the document-SLUA379B?

    Thanks
