TPS2654 has been tested with GT5500, GTi9108 and Tab 7.1
Dear Eric
Thank for your answer.
But, I can't find TPS2654 in the TI website.
Can you give the data of TPS2654?
Hi, Eric,
From what I can see from TPS2543 datasheet, it provides either short on D+-D- for BC 1.2 or dividers for Apple (2.7/2.0 V or 2.0/2.7 V). I understand branded Samsung and Lenovo chargers have short D+ to D- plus a divider setting this voltage to 1.16V; HP likewise has short floating at 2.7V. Would TPS2543 auto detect such brands and provide the above configurations on D+, D-? If not, would it automatically revert to downstream charging port or at least standard downstream port when it sees Samsung, Lenovo or HP?
TPS2543 just presents the 2.0/2.7 (or vice-versa) on Dx in divider mode (pg 18 in DS). In DCP auto detect, TPS2543 cycles between divider and BC1.2 but not CDP or SDP which must be configured with the CTLx pins.
Hi Eric,
Is it possible TI may release a new variant of the TPS2543 that will operate in DCP for Android devices like the Samsung Galaxy?
Please contact your local TI sales office for inquiries of this sort.
Thx, Eric
I have been testing the TPS2543 eval board with a Nook Color. In DCP auto detect mode, the TPS2543 seems to continuously cycle modes causing the PD to cycle between charging at 1.5A and 500mA continuously. The Nook Color charges at 1.5A when the chip is in DCP_Shorted mode (TT=1001). Has anyone seen this behavior? Is there a way to make the DCP auto mode work for the Nook Color?
There are too many devices in the market, our test can't cover all the devices. so we don't know what hppen for Nook Color and we would better internally communicate and more detial discuss in email.
