I am looking for an LDO that can handle an input range from 5.6V to 8V, and >1A output with a 5V output. I can’t use a switching supply because it is an Magnetic Resonance environment. So I need something with a good thermal performance for the upper end of the input voltage range, and a very low drop out for the bottom end.
I looked at the TPS76750 and the TPS73801 but I'm at 140oC at 1 amp so that really does not work. Is there a way to use two cheaper LDO's and parallel them up? or is there an LDO you can recommend with a much better thermal perfomance?
