I am seeing a flashing STAT1 LED on my BQ24103. Table 1 of the Rev O datasheet does not list a flashing condition for this charger. What does this mean? Thanks, Matt

Hi Matt,
No, it is not suppose to flash if you are using bq24103. You can review your schematic by using the EVM as reference. Is it flashing at all times? please send me some scope plots to look and a description of the test set up to understand the issue better.

I am attaching my schematic. I have seen units briefly flash STAT1 after charge is terminated and STAT2 is active. I have also seen units flash STAT1 when the charge is first starting.
Matt,
The schematic looks good. Make sure that the STAT and BAT pin are not getting noise. Probe them with scope and make sure they are clean and at the right level.

Hi matt,
I am just looking at your schematic again, I noticed that the power ground and the analog (or signal ground) are the same. This may cause some noise issue in the charger; can you please use the layout of the EVM as a reference?
To exactly understand what happens during the start up and the termination, we need to look at the stat pin the battery pin voltages using a scope probes.

I believe the battery protection IC is sensing an overvoltage condition and opening the charge FET.
