I have the BQ2060AEVM-001 evaluation module and am using it to monitor the charging and discharging of lithium battery pack (2 cells in series, 3300mAh). I am monitorring current, voltage of each cell, and state of charge.
This works fine for battery pack charging from a power supply; the state of charge increases from 0% to 100% and remaining capacity increases from 0 to 3300mAh.
But now I want to monitor the same parameters while discharging the battery pack through an electronic load. The problem that I am having is that when the battery is connected to the load the battery state of charge shows 0% and the remaining capacity shows 0 even when it is fully charged. (Voltage and current monitoring is OK).
How can he get the BQ2060AEVM-001 to start the discharge at 100% (3300mAh) and then go down as it discharges? Does it have something to do with the EDV and VOC levels in EEPROM programming? My understanding is that the EVM is supposed to sense negative flow of current when it discharges and therefore set the state of charge and remaining capacity to its full value in the beginning of discharge.
