TPS61097 pin compatible higher Iout Version?

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS61097-33, TPS61070, TPS61200

Hi,

we have designed in TPS61097-33 as powersupply for a Bluetooth Module. This module is now obsolete and the pin compatible replacement needs a higher peak current of 150mA for 400us.

The TPS does not support this and the voltage dumbs are too big to be accepted by the Module.

Please see attached schematic, Vin needs to be 0.9V to 3.3V with Vout 3.3V.

Is there a pin compatible part that we can use?

 Many thanks and best regards,

Katharina

  • 400 usec is quite a long time, so we'll need to consider that as steady state for the power supply providing it.  So, what you need is a device that can supply 150 mA at 3.3V from a 0.9V source.  The TPS61070 is the next highest current level IC but cannot give that much output current at that very low Vin.  I recommend testing the TPS61070 and seeing how it performs with the possibility of possibly raising the min Vin level.  It would require the least extra board space.

The TPS61200 is the next step up and can deliver that much power.
