Wireless Power Transfer Over Distance

Hi,

I am looking for a solution for wireless power transfer over distance to power sensors and/or probes.

I need  40ma @ 3v3 at a distance of up to 300m.  Do you have any solutions and/or part numbers you can recommend for this.  If not, do you know of anything that I could look at.

Thanks,

James.

  • Hi,

    What frequency are you planning to use?

    Did you make some path loss calculations?

    In crude numbers, you need a power of 20dBm at your receiver. Path loss for 400MHz, at 300m, is approx. 70dB. Even with directional antennas of 15dBi gain each one (a rather good performance) you would still need to transmit:

    P = 20 + 70 - 15 - 15 = 60dBm (1000W!). And I didn't take into account other factors, like conversion losses, etc.

    I hope I am not making a big mistake here...

    Best regards,

    Albert
