How to create a chemistry file for my NIckel Cobalt Magnesium (NCM, 40AH, 13 cells in series)

We are developing a BMS using bq78PL116, as the targeted battery will be NCM 40AH 13 cells connecting in series, 

We have finished the host MCU communication with bq78PL116. However, we found many parameters must be entered

through bqwidzar, and seems that there were none of any Chemistry suitable for our battery cell. We need some guideline

to customize the parameters (safety rules, additional setting and information) . We have got bq78PL116EVM, and Automatiic 

Battery Tester in our Lab, Could it be any steps we missed ? Many thanks !

    Charles,
    If your battery is not available in our Chemistry ID portfolio, then we can characterize is and create as ID for you. It requires a couple of cells and about 6 weeks to process.

    The parameter set on the PL116 is complex. The TRM provides the best guidance on parameter definition and setup.

    Hi Thomas,

    Thanks for your feedback,  is that means we need to ship you battery cell to generate a new chemistry file ?

    Is there any other way to generate a chemistry file by ourself ? Actually, we are battery manufacturer and planning to

    manufacture a full Line of battery pack maybe different models will make, could it be more flexible ?

    Charles,

    Our battery characterization lab has a specific profile and analysis tools that they use to create a ChemID, so cells are required for us to create one. You can use bqEasy or bqUpdater to collect data on your cell and see if there is already a close match in our database. Information about these tools can be found on the TI website and through searching our e2e forum.
