If the WDI is not desired, you must leave WDI and WDO open circuited.

why should WDI be left floating?
Usually it is not the best idea to leave inputs floating and the TPS3860x0 spec doesn't state WDI has an internal PU or PD.
Please also kindly note that WDI doesn't affect any other circuitry inside the chip but WDO (WDT).
My suggestion therefore would be to tie WDI to GND, while leaving WDO open. Btw, in the spec all data of the TPS3860x0 (despite power consumption) was specified with WDI tied to GND.

As long as WDO is open circuited. WDI can also be grounded if WD is not being used.
