When TPS7A47 will be launched?

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS7A47

We are looking for a extremely low noise linear regulator for our project, that is a 4 CH 16 bits ADC board in FMC standard and found the component TPS7A47 in TI website. The datasheet is just a PREVIEW. Someone knows when this component will be available on the market? This is a very interesting component, very superior to others mainly in noise specificaton... I have another question, we need at lest 3 A, someone knows if we can put this components in paralell? thank you very much!

  • Hello Fernando,

The worst case release of this part, as I understand things, will be the end of the month (July).  I will pass your Forums entry to the correct system engineers on the product line - though I don't know their present position on giving out samples prior to release.

You will not be able to directly parallel LDOs to gain increased current capability.  Personally, I think that the best way to do what you suggest is to "diode OR" the outputs using a very good schottky diode in series with each output ( I can't guess what noise a diode will add).

  • Hello Fernando,

I can confirm that we will be RTMing this device by the end of this month. Bill is like, this device was not designed for parallel loads HOWEVER We should explore paralleling loads with this device using ballast resistors (maybe we can get 3A out of this device by paralleling 4 of them). Can you provide more details regarding the application? A block diagram or schematic will be very helpful (include vin, vout if posssible). Please email me your concerns and application information to my TI email, We will keep Bill in the loop as well.
