I have a design based on TI's reference designs that uses both the BQ20z75 and BQ24610. I am doing testing on the board and I deliberately shorted the output pins. The gas gauge indicates this by setting the SCD bit and shutting off both the chg and dsg FETS. What I don't understand is why the pack does not reset itself when the short is removed. It seems permanently stuck there even though a short circuit is not a permanent fault. I can hook up a charger, I can hook up a load and no matter what I do I can't get the fault to resolve itself unless I physically remove the battery from the circuit board.
I have the [NR} bit set to 1 and I am under the impression from the documentation that if the current is greater than -5ma for a few seconds the error should clear yet it does not do this.
Please help thank you-
