AUX file generation problem for bq78pl116

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: BQ78PL114, BQWIZARD, BQ78PL116

Hi all,

I am currently working on a new Li-Ion battery pack design that uses the bq78pl116 fuel gauge, and am trying to set up a golden pack. I have been following the Chemistry Selection for bq78pl114 (SLUA505B) application to generate the .aux file, but have had trouble getting the aux file generation utility in bqWizard to function correctly. In the utility, once I choose the source and destination files, fill in all the options, and click run the utility gets to the following point and just hangs:

Prereading data

..........................................................................................

..........................................................................................

......................................................

The battery is a 6s1p Li-Ion polymer design and I selected the 0211 chemistry ID. I think i setup all the parameters correctly for the data collection run (per SLUA505B) All calibration was performed , and chemistry chosen. I used the "characterize_12cell.slog" and ".dlog" files for logging setup and a 2sec log interval. The test itself is performed on automated test equipment, so as far as I can tell it goes through all the steps as described in SLUA505B.

Is there any way to verify that the log file I  created is complete? Also, the application mentions that the aux file can also be generated by TI after providing the log file, is this still an option? I am in a bit of a time crunch, so any and all tips or comments are greatly appreciated. I can provide the parameter settings and data log files to anyone willing to help out (for some reason the file attachment tool for this post is not working for me).

Thank you,

Maciek
