Dear TI-er.
How I set the TPS2511 nCS pin ?
Can I explain function ?
plz help me.
From pg 15 of the datasheet:
The CS open-drain output is asserted immediately when the OUT pin current is more than about half of the current limit set by a resistor on ILIM_SET pin.
Dear TI-er.
I read TPS2511 datasheet already.
But, TPS2511 EVM ( 4 kinds ) different from each other.
How I design it ?
"But, TPS2511 EVM ( 4 kinds ) different from each other."
Please explain further what you mean. Are you referring to the TI online EVM; TPS2511EVM-141?
TPS2511 is an adjustable current limited power switch. On the EVM, the current limit is set by J8 (connecting R14 to ILIM_SET) for 2.33A or J9 (connecting R15 to ILIM_SET) for 1.16A. The resistor value can be changed for other current limits according to EQ1 in the TPS2511 datasheet. TPS2511 will set the CSb pin low when the OUT current exceeds approximately one half of the current limit set point (~ 1.15A and ~0.56A on the EVM).
When CSb is low, it can be used to change the output voltage setpoint of a dc/dc converter (U2 on the EVM). The amount of output voltage change can be selected by J5, J6, or J7. This can compensate for the voltage drop from the TPS2511 OUT to the portable device over the USB cable. Once you know the voltage drop to compensate for across the cable you can choose the voltage increase on the dc/dc converter according to EQ 8-11 in the datasheet.
