uc3909 --- can we use for high power battery charger applications?

hi,

We are going to design a VRLA battery charger for a UPS application. We have chosen UC3909 analog device for the battery charger. Our specification is

Input voltage = 400Vdc @ + 10%

converter topology = BUCK

output voltage = 72 -300Vdc ( battery bank 72 - 240V )

Output current = 1 - 20A ( Ah range 28 - 200Ah)                          power  = 6kVA

My doubt is,

(1) can we use UC3909 for our application ....?

(2) is that possible to configure different output voltage and currents in the buck converter  according to the battery bank voltage and ampere-hour range with minor changes in the converter circuit..........? Any idea?

ie: example : if we are connecting 180V battery bank (15*6=180V) and 200Ah battery. The converter able to deliver corresponding voltage levels (4 state algorithm voltage levels) and currents for battery charging with minor changes in the converter components...

Let me know your valuable suggestions to proceed further with UC3909..
