Looking for LM3410 except higher output current

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LM3410, TPS63060

I am looking for an LED driver that can operate in boost from one Li-ion (3.8v-4.2v) or buck from 8.4v. Either is fine. I am looking for constant current output which adjusts to the Vf of the diode. I have been using the LM3410 in boost with great success up to about 1.2A. After that, no matter how much heat sinking, it goes into thermal protection very quickly.

I would like something similar that can do more current.

I have been experimenting with the TPS63060 with some success, but don't care for the package very much and am still running into limits on output current.

I would also be open to parralel drivers. I can parralel the LM3410's for more current, but then the price starts to become an issue if I have to create two PCBs, two sets of components and two LM3410's. I could possibly build the pcb to take both 3410's and try to parallel them on the board to lower the number of components, but ideally I'd prefer to find a high current led driver that could be the centerpiece of a new driver board. I am also working very hard to keep size to a minimum. A 16mm diameter round board or a square/rectangle pcb with 12mmx16mm would be good.

Any direction towards a good dc/dc constant current driver with >3A capability (not switch current, but actual output current) would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you,

Indeed this is a very good selection tool: you can introduce the parameters of the current and led characteristics you need to meet and the tool will find (if possible) a suitable solution
