Hello
I have a problem with the current drawn by the LMR62421 when it powers a small solenoid. What happens is that in idle state (no load, EN-pin high) the circuit draws 8mA and the output voltage, 11.6V, looks really good. But when I connect a load (solenoid or plain resistor doesnt seem to matter) it uses about three times more current than it should. The solenoid in this case draws 130mA at 12VDC but when connected on the V-out of the 62421 the total circuit draws little above 410mA in total. Am I up in the blue for thinking that the current drawn is way to high or is this what I should expect?
PCB components:
V-in = 4.5V
V-out = 11.6V
C1,C2 = 10uF/25V X5R
C3 = 220pF/50V X7R
C4 = 22nF/50V X5R
D1 = 1MQ040N schottky
DR1 = 10uH/2.1A
IC1 = LMR62421X
R1 = 100k 1%
R2 = 10k 1%
R3 = 82k 1%
Best regards
