How to design the calibration values for scaling and offset values for Vin, Vout, Temp etc.UCD9222 +UCD7242

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: UCD9222, UCD7242

Hello ,

How to obtain the initial or approximate values (not by calibration ) for scaling and offset values for Vin, Vout, Temp etc. We are using UCD9222+UCD7242 in our design.

I see that `Fusion` sets everything to zero or One, which i think it is not correct. As I understand it should change according the controller and powerr stage IC used

Please direct me to the appropriate equations

  • Upon opening the offline version of Fusion GUI and selecting Create New Design/Project, then picking the controller and rail/phase configuration then the GUI opens to the Design page, shown in the background of the image below.

Selecting a Discrete Component design radio button at the top of the Power Stage section allows you to click the link next to the Driver listing for a dropdown of available drivers, selecting the UCD7242 then completing the Output Voltage line will allow the tool to automatically choose schematic valuess for key components that affect the configuration (such as  VIN_SCALE, VOUT_SCALE_MONITOR).

Clicking the Edit Full Power Stage in Schematic button will display the window in the foreground of the image below, you can use these values or uncheck the appropriate box in the window and the values become editable, there are many standard value choices available from the database or unique components can be entered as well.

The Design --> Device Syncronization checkboxs back in the main design screen control the writing of the appropriate configuration parameters derived from the schematic values when the Write to Hardware button is used to update the configuration.

If you are looking for a brief description of what each configuration parameter represents, hover over the box where the configuration data is written for that command and the Hints & Tips box will include the description.
