TPS60250 EVM software

Hi

there is no update those are the same files as on the the disc that came with it.

I do not have XP only 7 but I also feel that the chip is heating so I think it is also damaged.

if the chip is damage the software will writ no usb bridge....???

You should be able to plug in the USB cable to your PC and get the green light on the box.  That should display USB bridge connected even if it isn't connected to the EVM.

If the EVM is damaged, you won't be able to read or write from the device.

I will install xp emulator and see if it make things better but still does the chip need to get to 70 C (degree) whil connected to 5V?

I am using the drv201 software in windows 7 is it the same???? are you sure that XP is the problem? havent you tried it on win 7 as well?

I'm sure this software wasn't designed to run on Windows 7.  It was released in 2007 after all.  It is a likely source of the issue you are seeing.

The DRV software is from a different group and might behave differently.

is it the same usb interface adapter or I should work only with the one I got with this evl because they seem to me the same?

The interface adaptor box (hardware) is the same but the firmware and code in the box is different for every EVM.

same problem in XP after instalation of .net too...

please send another EVL or help in another way.

You need to work with your local FAE or distributor or call the product information center for this.

If the EVM is very hot, then you applied a voltage to it that damaged it.  It needs to be replaced.

If you install the software and plug in the USB box to your USB port, you will see USB bridge connected if everything is working right.  You don't need to connect the EVM for this to appear.  Make sure the green light on the USB box is lit and try different USB ports.  If this doesn't work, then you may have a bad USB box or your system is not compatible with the USB box firmware.

I just received the TPS60250 EVM and I'm experiencing the same issue with my Win7 computer.  The green light is on and I have the software running, but it still says "No USB Bridge Attached".  I tried to install the XP virtual machine from Microsoft, but my corporate computer won't allow it.  How can I get this working on my Win7 computer?

I just downloaded the software from the web and it worked fine with the EVM on the XP machine.  Note that it will probably ask you to update the firmware of the I2C box when you plug in the USB cable.  This is one indication that things are going properly.

I've asked out software guy for workarounds to this issue, but in the meantime you'll need to find an XP computer or work with IT to get that emulator on yours.

Due to this device's popularity, we've begun working on an updated software version that should be on the web before the end of the year.

I'm not a software guy, but I am told Win 7 is very different from an XP implementation.
