USB-to-GPIO does not function

The USB-to-GPIO adapters are notoriously unreliable.  I suggest trying a different adapter.  Then I suggest downloading the latest bq24180EVM software from the EVM website.  In the meantime, I will order a bq24180EVM, as I do not have one in stock, and confirm that the software works on that EVM.

Hi, Jeff, we have used the software downloaded from the web. Besides, the BQ24272EVM works with this adapter. Please check the EVM software in your lab and let us know!

Is the PC/laptop on which you are running this software a Windows 7, Windows Vista or Windows XP machine?

we have tested the software you provided. It's working better: it sees the USB-GPIO adpater at least. However there is a problem writing some registers (2d - ok, but 3d and 6th not possible) as well as sometimes the customer sees a mistake when choosing the R_sense.

The current sense resistor setting must match the physical current sense resistor in the circuit and measured currents will not match those per the register settings.

The maximum battery regulation voltage and maximum charge current settings can only be changed immediately following VBAT rising above the VSHORT threshold and before any other WRITE.

I do not understand what you mean by 2d, 3d and 6th.

Please ensure that if you are using the AUTOREAD feature, you set it slow enough (20sec) that you can actually make a change to one of the registers before the next read.
