Charge current problem in BQ24072

I am using BQ24072 to charge Lithium Ion battery of spec 3.7V and 8000mAh.I set the charge current to 800mA.Now when I check the current drawn from supply by keeping an ammeter in series I found that it was drawing only 600mA.

Can anyone help me out?

What is the voltage at the input?

Input voltage is 5V and current is 3Amp

I think that to be able to help you, you should provide data about the complete scenario. What input current was programmed, what is the charge current you programmed, which is your enable mode, what current do you measure at the input, at the output and at the battery.
