chemID does't change in data flash in bqEASY bq27510-G2

i'm using bqEASY with bq27510-G2. Here's the steps

1) put device in rom mode with - i2c command: 00, Data block: 000f

2) program new .senc file, software indicated download was success

3) power cycled board - i'm not sure if this is where I messed up. i didn't press "execute" in bqEasy. i thought a power cycle would cause the new .senc to execute.

4) went thru bqEASY steps and selected chem ID 1107. Software took a while writing to the device

result: chemID has not been updated in data flash. it still reads 0100. what is wrong?

Hi Dan-o,

You're procedure looks 100% correct to me so I'm not sure why it's not updating. The chemistry programming does take excruciatingly long in bqEASY, but the new chemID should show up in your DF. Silly question, but did you click "Read All" at the end to read out the updated DF values?

yes I did. I'm reading chemID from the OCV tables tab in data flash screen. i think this may be a reason I keep failing learning cycles

I switched boards now programming the chemID in bqEASY results in the data flash updating its chemID field. Something was wrong with the chip on my other board. The bad thing is, the only symptom was data flash not updating. I could talk with the chip in bqEASY, i could program a new .senc, and it acted like it successfully programmed the chemID (except for updating data flash).

Other thing that can help on these cases is to delete previous project temporary files (.ezy, .gg, .dfi) and restart the bqEasy steps.

Old question, but now I remembered another similar situation. I just closed the "calibration window". Somehow it messes up the chemistry writing.
