bq20z90 EVM not recognized by the provided software.

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: BQ20Z90, BQEVSW

HI,

I purchased a bq20z90evm-001 kit. I'm working on windows 7. i'v downloaded and installed win 7 drivers for EV2300.  But the software still does not recognize the EVM board automatically. it says "No devices found".

Where can I find the recent updates of win 7 drivers for EV2300..??

  • Praveen,

If the software says that EV2300 is not found then you can install the 64 bit Windows 7 drivers from

    http://e2e.ti.com/support/power_management/battery_management/m/videos__files/458983.aspx

If the error messages do not mention EV2300 then the EV2300 is detected and the software is able to communicate to it. The problem may be that bq20z90 is in sleep mode or not connected correctly to EV2300

  • Praveen,

Did you temporarily touch PACK+ to BAT+ on the EVM to wake the device? You should do this prior to opening the bqEVSW and the GUI should recognize the EVM as long as you have the proper version loaded and properly configured.

    Tom

  • Hi Shirish,

Thanks for your help. I installed the drivers. The problem was with the USB connection cable. I fixed that and now it works fine with win 7.

  • Hi Tom,

The device was initially in sleep mode. I connected an external supply of 6V across the PACK+ and PACK- terminals to wake the device. It works fine now.

    Thanks for your help.

    Regards,

    Praveen.
