EV2300 not working with windows7 64 bit driver

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: BQ27000

I am trying to use the EV2300 module with my bq27000 evm board on my 64 bit windows 7 machine.

I have installed the windows7 64 bit driver (EV2300a_Device_Driver_Installer_Multilanguage_0.6) but no device appears in the Device Manager.

When I run the bq27X00 Evaluation software it reports 'target board not responding'.

If i disconnect/reconnect the USB the Device Manager screen refreshes bit no new device appears. I've tried rebooting and reloading the driver.

  • I am having a similar problem running Windows7 64-bit and a bq28550EVM. I get an error when I try to run the driver installation. The device appears in Device Manager as unknown and the application SW does not detect it.

Steve, if you find a solution please update this thread.

    Thanks,

    Doug

  • I found another thread with a link to a driver that works for 64-bit.

    http://e2e.ti.com/support/power_management/battery_management/m/videos__files/458983.aspx

    Seems to work now.

  • Also make sure to run installation as administrator

  • Hi all.

I'm using computer with installed 64-bit windows 7.

    1) I've successfully installed driver EV2300a_Device_Driver_Installer_Multilanguage_0.6 downloaded from the link above.

    2) After plugging in EV2300 module, installing new device notification passed twice successfully.

    3) Installation of bq sw bqEV-EasySWSetup00.09.41_bq20z95v1.50_bqEasy1.50 that comes with purchased kit passed successfully too.

But when I connect EV2300 module and run bq Evaluation Software, I get this message:

(Also, bq Evaluation Software start up window shows sw version 0.9.41)

When I click OK, this window appears:

I tried out all of these versions. In any case these two windows pops up:

    Please advise!

    Thanks,

    Ivica

  • This seems to be the solution (works on two 64-bit Win7 machines):

    1) Install driver EV2300a_Device_Driver_Installer_Multilanguage_0.6

    2) Plug in EV2300 module to USB port and wait for windows to install device showing message "TI TUSB3210/2136 App Fw device installed"

    3) Plug out EV2300 module

    4) Install bqEVSWSetup00.09.59_bq20z95v1.50_bqEasy1.85 downloaded from this link

    http://www.ti.com/tool/bq20z95evm-001

    5) Connect custom battery pack with its bq control board or test adapter board to the EV2300 (follow instructions in case of test adapter board)

    6) Connect EV2300 to PC and run bq easy software.

    Regards,

    Ivica
