TPS65051 current spike on LDO2

Hello,

I have a question about LDO2 on the TPS65051: The LDO is a 400mA LDO with a 1000mA maximum rating on the input pin.  At startup there is the 830mA inrush for about 200uS.

From the timing diagram on p. 30 of the DS it seems like LDO2 won't even be on in 200us and therefor it is ok that the inrush excedes the 400mA and as long as it doesn't excede the absolute max rating of 1000mA it should be fine.

Is this correct?

    Hi Rachel, 

    The way that I am interpreting your post is that the customer has LDO2 enabled and turns on the power to the device. The VINLDO2 draws up to 830mA  for 200us. Is this correct? If so, this sounds a bit high. Otherwise, yes the pin's absolute max rating is 1A.

    What is the input capacitance on the VINLDO2 pin?
