In an effort to reduce power dissipation, we are selecting the bq51013A Ilimit resistor such that our nominal load exceeds 40% of the Ilimit value. This keeps Vrect at its lowest level.
However when a short high current demand occurs, the current limit throttles it and Vout dips (no surprise). So, we paralleled the Ilimit resistor with a 0.1u capacitor to slow the response of the current limiter. The question is whether this is advisable. Will this cause instability in the circuit?
Thanks in advance for any insight.
