bq51013A Stability issue when adding capacitor across Ilimit resistor?

In an effort to reduce power dissipation, we are selecting the bq51013A I_limit resistor such that our nominal load exceeds 40% of the I_limit value. This keeps V_rect at its lowest level.

However when a short high current demand occurs, the current limit throttles it and V_out dips (no surprise). So, we paralleled the I_limit resistor with a 0.1u capacitor to slow the response of the current limiter.  The question is whether this is advisable. Will this cause instability in the circuit?
