BQ20Z95 learn cycle question

The standard procedure is to discharge the battery and let it rest for 5 hours. What happens if I discharge the battery down to the level where the Z95 shuts off. I insert the battery into the charger and it will wake up. How does that effect the learn cycle? Will the 5hrs rest start at wakeup? 

I have a battery that stays at 4% error when it is running in my cycler. The cycler waits for just 2 hr between charge and discharge cycle.

    Mike,

    The device will attempt to take OCV measurements after the wait, but it will not update Qmax. The reset will erase the previous DOD qualifying point that is required the the Qmax update. The device will set a new DOD point after the new wait time and try to update Qmax after you charge. You should not allow the device to shutoff or reset, especially during a learning cycle.
