bq3060 DSG Pin Not Responding

I have designed a battery board with the bq3060. I have designed many battery gas gauge boards in the past and I don't believe I have a faulty schematic. I have verified that the connection from the pin to the resistor isn't shorted to any other nets.

On the bqEval software, the FET Status register indicates both the CHG and DSG bits are set but, the voltage on the 5.1k resistor from the gate to the IC is at the battery voltage. The pull-up resistor, gate-to-source, is 3.01M, same as on the bq3060 Eval Board.

I have replaced the bq3060 IC on the board to be certain that wasn't the problem.

Update:

The problem was the FUSE pin. I wasn't using a chemical fuse and didn't see anything on the data sheet about what to do with an unused pin. Since it was an output (error on my part) I left it floating. When I grounded it the part worked.

I had submitted this to TI as a technical support request and they gave me as much support as they did on this forum. Oh well.

As I saw TI did give information about what to do with the Fuse Pin if not used see on Page 78 http://www.ti.com/lit/ug/sluu319/sluu319.pdf.
