    Hi Randy,

    The LMR70503 is an asynchronous inverting buck-boost converter. It does NOT have OVP function such as turning on LS fet to drain the charges etc.

    The only OV condition the LMR70503 will see in normal operation is at no load. Since the LMR70503 has minimum switching frequency and minimum HS ON time, Vout will be charged higher than regulation at no load condition. An internal dummy load is designed to help drain the charges on Cout and to keep Vout in regulation.

    If the OV condition is caused by external current source charging Cout, the LMR70503 will operation at min switching frequency with min HS ON time. The internal dummy load (~7mA) will also turn on to help.

    The LMR70503 supports pre-bias start up.
