No ACK after command byte in BQ20Z95

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: BQ2060, BQEVSW

Hi,

I am testing a battery pack with BQ20Z95 gas gauge. Previously we were using BQ2060.

With the same software at the host side I'm trying to read Temperature, Current and Charge Status from BQ (addresses 0x08, 0x0a and 0x0d). After acknowledged chip address (0x16), host sw sends command, but there is NACK pulse at its end. After that, host initiates STOP condition.

As BQ returns ACK after address phase, I believe it is in some state where doesn't accept no commands.

Can someone explain this behavior, and what is the way to put the BQ in the operational state.

Thanks,

Ivica
