Evening,
I am using a bq20z65 device and am having some difficulties. My symptoms were that I could not turn the FETs on to enable the battery for want of a simple description.
On analysing the issue I have reailsed that the part is doing its job and will not turn the FETs on as it believes that TS2 - the second thermistor is in some bad temperature state. This seems reasonable. However there is not a TS2 thermistor on the board and the pin is open floating (as per a sample circuit for one of the other similar devices).
To disable TS2 and clear the OT2D flag which is set as a consequence of the issue, I probably have to set the 1st level safety temperature settings. Specifically the OT2 DSG TIME setting to 0. However this entire register is unmodifiable.
I'm uncertain how to clear one issue without resolving the other. Does anyone have any ideas.
In the interim I am going to attempt to put a resistor to GND on the TS2 pin rather than leave it floating. I have seen this on one of the other posts. If there is something I am doing wrong however, please feel free to make a suggestion.
Best thanks as always.
