BOM for TLC5947 Demo Board (or cap recommendations?)

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TLC5947

I'm designing a prototype driver board around the TLC5947. The schematic borrows a few ideas from the official TI TLC5947 Demo Board. In particular, I'm using the same capacitor values.

I'd be interested to know what actual components (specifically the capacitors) were specified for that board. The schematic infers that the only electrolytic is one of the two used in VLED decoupling.

My particular interest here is low heat / low ESR / low explosive possibilities - it's a wearable project with boards close to my skin, so I'm wary of traditional electrolytics ;)

If need be I'll do away with the VLED decoupling, and run that from a seperate source to avoid noise on the main VCC.

So, is there any spec for the capacitors on the demo board?

  • Hi Paul-san,

    I'm sorry my late response.

There is no spec for capasitor. LED driver's  constant current is changed at output voltage when it's dropped under satulation voltgae.

To avoid this, it needs and it also need to adjust capacitor's value in actual to stable.

Ceramic capacitor  is low impedance, so if need fast responce, it needs.
