ucc28019 ic used for 50W pfc

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: UCC28019

Hello, im trying to build a ~50w pfc using the ucc28019 but the datasheet says it should be used in application above 100W - the pfc its going to be used in a school laboratory thats why its low power

so the question is can i use this ic to successfully build a pfc to suite my needs or ill have to look at some other ic or to build a higher power pfc ?

Thanks,

Vlad

  • There is nothing that would realistically limit the UCC28019 from being used in a low power application. For industrial applications it would be more appropriate to use one of our transition mode PFC controllers at this low power level (considering component selection and efficiency to operate in different modes at low power) but there's nothing physically limiting the UCC28019 from being used.
