Using TPS3801I50DCK for 3-microcontroller supervisory

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS3801

Hi,

I want to use the TPS3801I50DCK to act as a supervisory for a 5V microcontroller and I have a couple of doubts:

1) Is this IC (TPS3801I50DCK) going to be discontinued?

2) Can I use one of the TPS3801I50DCK to control 3 microcontrollers? or should I use one TPS3801I50DCK for each microcontroller (3 TPS3801I50DCK)?

Thanks and regards.

  • Hi Carlos,

    1) No, there is currently no plan to discontinue the 5V version of the TPS3801

    2) You can use one supervisor to drive the RESET of the 3 microcontrollers as long as the overall output current of the TPS3801 creates the appropriate VOL and VOH for the microcontrollers. Please see Figures 3,5, and 6 of the datasheet.

    Regards,
