TPS22903 as external MPPT Switch for BQ25504

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: BQ25504

Hi,

i would like to use the TPS22903 as a switch to charge a 33pF reference capacitor every 50ms to realize an external MPPT Circuit for the BQ25504.

Since there mustn't be any leakage from cref (insulation resistance = 1000GOhm (~0,003nA @ 3V))  my question is if there is any leakage current (>0,01nA) of the tps22903 floating from VIN to VOUT or vice versa when ON = GND?

Best regards,

Mathias

  • As i found out, there will always be a reverse current from output to input through the body diode of the mosfet unless i use a load switch with integrated reverse current protection.

I have only found the TPS22930 with reverse current protection in your lineup, but the minimum input voltage is 1.4V and the reverse leakage current is still 2uA.

Aren't there better solutions for my problem, how does this work inside the BQ25504?

What do you think of  2 p-channel mosfets in a back to back configuration and is it possible to to the same with to load switches (e.g. TPS22903)?
