TPS40210 problem

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS40210

Mr. hello:

I have a question need help to solve I will change the TPS40210 circuit such as the picture on the circuit. I of VG1 = 12VDC, hope VOUT = +100 V, VF1 =-100V but actually VOUT = +40 V, VF1 =-30V. Hope you can give me some advice to modify the circuit. Thank you!

  • Hi Huang,

Lets start out by making sure the +100V output works before adding on the charge pump. Can you try this out?

Other tips from previous experience with TINA, make sure your FET and diode are properly rated for the voltage and adjust the initial voltage on the output capacitors by right clicking on them, clicking on Enter Macro then changing IC = 24 to your output voltage.

Also, looking at your compensation you have two series R C in parallel. The compensation should be possible with the original configuration. To select these you can try using SwitcherPro or WEBENCH to create a design with 12V input and 100V output.

  • Hello:

       I will change it back TPS40210 picture on the circuit and I changed R3 = 1M R11 = 0, R5 = 360, COUT IC = 0, C12CRLC IC = 0 L1 = 1uH, deleted R2. D2 MURS120T3 Withstand 100V/2A T1 FDB28N30 withstand voltage 200V VOUT = 50V, unable to VOUT = 100V VOUT = 100V, I ask if I should change the circuit architecture? Thank you help, thank you!

  • Hello:

Can I ask you whether TPS40210 Vout =-100V / 100mA use circuit architecture! Thank you!

  • Hi Huang,

For this much current I would recommend a flyback topology instead. The charge pump may not be able to provide enough current.
