Could the charger be impimented with multiple independant input rails, one having sense and one not:
12VDC/10A with a sense resistor and 24VDC/30A w/out a sense resistor.
When the 12VDC rail is present the charger will use DPM w/ the sense resistor. When 24VDC rail is present there is no voltage present on the 12VDC rail so there should be no voltage drop across the sense resistor and Vdiff should be zero so the charger would operate w/out DPM when 24VDC is present.
Yes, it is possible.
For example, notebook when you have adapter or put in doc station, you can connect to different sensing resistors.
24V may be too high for this IC, the absolute rating is 30V, hot plug in voltage spike may be too high to damage IC.
Must take care the over voltage spike to prevent IC damage.
