Looking for DC-DC step-up supply design pointers and circuit ideas

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LM3478

Hi,

Not finding exactly what I'm looking for as an off-the-shelf module part, I am now looking at putting together my own circuit for a DC-DC supply. Top-level specs are:

 - Input dc voltage: 9-11V (from battery)

- Output dc voltage: 38-42V (set by pot.)

- Output ripple:  30mV max.

- Average Load current: 30mA

- Peak load current: 240mA

- Good load regulation in general

- Simple (i.e. not too many discrete components), small footprint & efficient.

Any suggestions of ICs and hopefully complete circuit drawing are greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

David

UPDATE:

I used Webench and it pointed me towards the LM3478. The circuit looks good from most points of view, but while load regulation looks fine, the ripple looks a bit high at ~350mV during high current demand (0.3A) when I ran the simulation. Any ideas for reducing this ripple with this IC, or maybe with another IC?

Cheers
