Hello

I've just downloaded bqEV-EASY-HHSWSetup00.09.59, bq27510v1.12, bqEasy v1.36.00 (Rev. C) to calibrate a bq27510 (device:510, ver:1.11).

When I start the bqEVSW, the only supported target is "bq27510 v1.12 (Dev:510,Ver:1.12) -510_1_12", then a message box says "The detected device is not compatible with this application! Proceed at your own risk."

I think I need an older bqEVSW or a newer target. ¿Where can I find a bqEVSW compatible with my target?, where can I find a bq27510 v1.12 senc file, I've found bq27510 v1.11 Senc File.

bq2710 is not recommended for new desings, I'd like to get some bq27510-G1 samples (they will be available from TI in 10th January), but the only samples I've been able to buy are bq2710 (without G1), any help?

I've found bq27510 v1.12 Senc (Rev. A) for bq27510-G1 (http://focus.ti.com/docs/prod/folders/print/bq27510-g1.html), can v1.12 senc file  be programmed in bq27510?, what's the difference between bq27510-G1 and bq27510?, only software?, does a bq27510 become a bq27510-G1 when programmed with v.12 senc file?.

    Hi,

     

    Please use the -G1 version. Once it is programed with -G1 senc, it becomes -G1 unit. It is a improved version to non-G1 firmware. the device HW is the same. I am not sure about the sample availability. Please contact local sales or FAE.

    Although Ming already answered, I want to add some details for others' benefit.

    bq27510 ships with v1.11 firmware.  This firmware (SENC file) and the associated EVSW and can be downloaded from the bq27510 web page.

    bq27510-G1 ships with v1.12 firmware and can be downloaded from the bq27510-G1 web page.

    A bq27510 can be upgraded to bq27510-G1 by using the v1.12 SENC file and following the instructions from this app note:

    Updating Firmware with the bq2750x and EVM (Rev. A)

    Be very careful and make sure you create a new DFI file compatible with v1.12. 

    If you try to load an old DFI file created for v1.11 into an IC with v1.12 firmware your IC will be rendered useless and need to be replaced.

    Hi,

    I have a similar problem. I am using the bq27510-G2 and the bqEVSW version 0.9.92. So when I start the bqEVSW a message box says "The detected device is not compatible with this application! Proceed at your own risk.". It means that the bqEVSW is not compatible with the bq27510-G2?. Should I buy the newer bq27510-G3?. The software says the communication is OK

    Any help?did someone have the same problem?
