facing a problem in designing of foldback circuit in flyback converter

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TL431

hi,

i have designed a 2KV isolated dc dc coverter of 200W with input variation of 90V to 150V with operating frequency of 100Khz with output 40V_5A with pwm Ic of UC 2843,   for this converter i am facing a problem in designing of foldback circuit. so kindly help me for this.

note: here i have used TL431 shunt regulator in feed back circuit.

  • it is not much different to design any other 200W power supply:

you have to pay attention to the isolation, so the transformer and the FB catcher must be 2KV compliant!!

a forward or push-pull configuration would ok so, please have a look at the closest reference design to your needs, at the link

    http://www.ti.com/lsds/ti/analog/powermanagement/reference_design.page

and "adjust" it so satisfy the 2KV isolation requirement...

  • Hi,

Did the answer provided solve your issue? If not can you send a copy of your schematic so I can see what you are doing? If I understand ur question you are trying to design a 200 Watt flyback converter with foldback current limiting.

If this is correct I will need to see the complete schematic with all magnetic components parameters specified.
