Choosing capacitors for PTH04070W. Compensate for X5R?

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: PTH04070W

In the datasheet for the PTH04070W it is recommended a 47uF capacitor on the input and output. A X5R or a X7R capacitor is also recommended  But if I choose the X5R do I have to choose a higher capacitance value to compensate for the worst case capacitance due to voltage and temperature?

If I take the Murata 1210 X5R 47uF 6.3V it will only be about 27uF at +5V and -40degC.

  • PTH04070W was qualified with 47uF X5R ceramic capacitors on both  input and output bus. The -40°C  temperature .tolerance  change is <10% over its temperature range -40°C to+85°C.

The voltage tolerance change was factored into the 47uF ceramic capacitor selection  on the input and output bus.
