Can we use the bq78pl114 with only 2 cells ?

In the datasheet, I see 3-12 cells management.

No, the bq78PL114 does not support only 2 cells.

Very strange, because a European Application Support Engineer said me YES, but no more !

That's why I post the question !

But perhaps that there is some peripherical components to add and/or remove to allow working with only 2 cells.

Anyone who has experience with bq78PL114 ?

I suggest that you look at the bq20z95 or z75. these will support 2 cells.

Thank you for your answer.

But the proposed Parts don't use the High Efficiency Charge Pump !

So we will first use another solution, but hope Texas will develop such an IC in the future.

active charge redistribution is a great means of ballancing cells.

we have not targeted releasing <4cell devices because it adds the most system value for higher series cell counts.
