bqEASY Logging Error

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: BQ27500, BQ27500-V130Hi there, there's an error occuring at the end of Learning Cycle 2.

After charging I want to discharge the pack. I pushed the "-Option -" Button and after a few seconds a pup-up appears and tells me "Error Logging Data: Überlauf" (Overflow). I can click it away with the "OK" button but it's shown again after 10 Seconds.

Can I finish the golden image cycle by manual discharging the pack after the 2 hours relaxing time or will I end up in another error and a corrupted Golden Image File?

This is concerning the bq20z95, 4s cell-configuration, bqEV Version 0.9.41

Any suggestions? If you need more detailed informations let me know!

Thanks!

Felix.

EDIT: same error with bqEV Version 0.9.52

  • Hi fl, the discharge automation (step 2-4 in the learning cycling screen) through bqEasy is optional.

You can choose not to use the "option" button and manually discharge the pack by following the on-screen instruction. Click "All Done" button when you're done. Upon completion of 2 learning cycles, bqEasy will create the golden DFI.

Regarding the data overflow error, I have sent you an email to ask for more infirmation regarding your project.

  • @Jackie: Thank you for this information!

I wasn't realy sure if ignoring this error and proceeding like you suggested would give me a correct golden dfi, so I decided to start the process again. Error messages concerning a overflows seemed a bit strange to me during the process that will give me the master-file for mass production. (the poping-up message window every 10s was the other reason I decided to quit the program, reboot and restart everything).

I started another bqeasy-session and again I ran into errors :-(. This time, I manally discharged the cells like you adviced me. At the end of the 2nd cycle everything looked fine. I pushed the "Update Golden Pack" Button and got some Warning and error-messages.

1st message window says: "WARNING: Problem with DFI fil. Teh configuration file can't be found, or is corrupted"

    I clicked it away...

After the "Writing Qmax and Ra Table to Device" Process a 2nd message window says: "Error: Could not find subclass and offset for Gas Gauging. State.Qmax Cell 0"

    I clicked it away and...

a 3rd window appears and tells me: "CONGRATULATIONS! Your golden image file xyz.dfi has been written to the \Projects folder."

    xyz.dfi has no content...

I took some screenshots, maybe that helps somebody to explain what's going on...?

If you need more information let me know. I started a 3rd try this morning.

    Felix.
  • Felix,

bqEasy use information in the DFI saved from the previous steps in the process of generating the golden DFI. If those files are missing, you'll  error messages and golden DFI will not be created.

Though I saw from your attachment that you have finished Step1 (setup), Step3 (calibration), Step4 (Chemistry), but those check marks can be shown by loading an exisitng .ezy file. Can you cinfirm which steps did you complete?

The 2nd error message could be cause by several things:

    1. you have a missing .encr file for the device you're testing or

    2. the data flash structure in the device doesn't match with the .encr  file that bqEasy is trying to use

    3. communication error

The 3rd message is bogus. With error messsage 1 and 2, bqEasy will not be able to generate a golden DFI for you. The future revision of the program should improve the message flow.

In order to asssit you, I'll need more information of your setup and test flow. I tried to send you an email through the your forums profile, but I got an error instead. Can you send me a email through my forums profile, so that we can continue this conversation without explosing too much of your system design?

  • HI

    I have similar problem with bq27500 v130

I am continuous getting an error every time I try to finish the chemistry cycling.

    “Error Logging Data: Overflow”

I am using the automated version described in slua544

Can any one help me with this error?

    Best regards

    Emil

  • I see this post is from 2010, but I am having the exact same problem as Emil when I finish the chemistry selection cycling then try to write it to the device, I get overflow error and bqeasy crashes and shuts down and I lose my cycling information which is about a 12 hour procedure or so.

    My device is BQ27500-V130
