Hi,

I am using TPS40057 and added some special current limit delay circuit(used PNP Transistor and RC delay circuit) between Vin and current limit resistor.

It makes about 200ms delay at start up so output voltage does not hiccup even if there is a peak output current over current limit set up during the 200ms.

My question is, while current limit pin opens for this delay  TPS400057 is stable or not ? I mean TPS40057 supports current limit pin open?  Thanks.

    Hi Soo,

    While the ILIM pin is open, there is equivalently an infinite resistor between VIN and ILIM. The ILIM pin voltage is pulled low by the internal sink current. TPS40057 can still work but there is no current limit protection during this time.
