Can the lm338 be used to build a boost circuit with a few capasitors and resistors?
It says it can handle up to 12A for a short time, what is a short time? A few seconds or less?
Last, can a trimmer of equal value to the nominal resistor be used between the adj and output pins? (If a 5K resister is needed, will a 5K trimmer work for adjustment?)
