LM25066 and ORing

Hi,

for my task need power supply which can be used in parallel with other PS. The suppliers must be OR-ed together.

There are no space for placing two power MOSFETs: one for LM25066 and other for ORing controller.

Can the LM25066 perform functions of ORing controller?

Is this possible to use separate suppliers with LM25066 at output to power common load?

    Hi Alex,

    Unfortunately there is no easy solution to OR together the LM25066 outputs because the current can easily flow into the other supply, in other words, there is no "reverse current" protection.

    This can be added with an additional FET and some circuitry but will require several additional components.  A better choice would be to use 2x LM5050 ideal diode to block any reverse current, which can then be fed to a single LM25066.
