bq20z75 V1.60 - SCD and 0x0041 command........

Dear all,

During testing / development work with our battery system I have experienced the following:

  • High discharge current pulses that result in safety status bit SCD being set - when I try to do a reset with the MAC 0X0041 command to clear,  the PF DFF will be set. This has happend several times. I have to perform a 2673 1712 command to get the DFF cleared.
  • Is this a coinsident or is this "normal" - (PF DFF wil be set if a reset is done while SCD bit is set)?

The reason for asking is trying to understand most of the relationship.......

Best regards

Kjell

  • Kjell,

I have not be able to induce the DFF fault with this sequence of events. The PF DFF fault means that the data flash is corrupted. i.e. The checksum does not match. This could have occurred by a power problem while the device was updating the data flash. Have you noticed any dependency with respect to the battery voltages?

  • Tom,

I have done a lot of tests to replicate the observation done but I have not succeeded. My conclusion is that the observation (DFF set when MAC 0041 and SCD flag set) is caused by a corrupted data flash for this particular battery due to EMI caused by very high frequency, - high current transients due to pulse loading.

Once I reprogrammed the firmware (senc file) and updated the *.gg file everything works fine.

Thanks som much for your support

    Regards

    Kjell
